For the City Director

WORK TYPE: Full-time

The For the City Director will direct TJC’s local mobilization efforts. This will be accomplished through:

  • Developing and maintaining effective communication with other TJC staff, lay leaders, and volunteers.
  • Develop partnerships with local ministries and mobilize TJC to help with their needs.
  • Equipping ministry leaders and volunteers to meet care needs at TJC and in the community.
  • Receive, review, and assign care needs to the appropriate teams.


  • Must have a gospel conversion story
  • Must have followed in obedience through believer’s baptism
  • Must be:
    • above reproach
    • Sober-minded
    • Self-controlled
    • Respectable
    • Hospitable
    • not a drunkard
    • not violent but gentle
    • not quarrelsome
    • not a lover of money
  • Must abide in the Word daily
  • Must love people and have a servant’s heart
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead care teams to accomplish mission, ministry, and measurables through effective direction, relationship building, and delegation of duties.
  • Develop, implement, and track performance metrics for each responsible ministry function.
  • Help prepare and manage the yearly budget for For the City.
  • Pursue excellence in each care and mobilization opportunity through planning, training, relationship building, and thorough evaluation upon completion.
  • Lead leadership training opportunities for the various teams and ministries.
  • Discover, engage, and coordinate with local ministries to build relationships to provide serving and mobilization opportunities.
  • Lead and oversee the re|engage marriage ministry.
  • Seek out learning opportunities to remain effective.
